Dr. Ehssan Sakhaee (pen name Sakaii, aka Dr. E), is an engineer, cartoonist, philosopher, poet, and currently director of the undergraduate leadership program at the faculty of engineering & IT at the University of Sydney. His poetry remained hidden until he was asked to do a random gig at a cafe in Glebe in early 2017 when for the first time he read out some of his poems. On Easter, as he was walking down the road near his home in Sydney, Australia, when he came across a homeless lady who was sitting. next to a shop. He greeted her and asked if she reads poetry. Within minutes he had printed his favourite poems from Rumi that had inspired him and brought it to her where she read it out loud in public. This is where the idea of Street Poetry came to him. His mission is to eradicate poverty and homelessness by empowering the less privileged to become street poets, artists, merchants, entrepreneurs and sources of inspiration, locally and globally. He hopes that this movement has begun with the publication of this book and is looking for others to join in.
