He pulled me back to the windowsill, and I stumbled against him as he lifted me up again. He stepped in between my legs, hard and hot, and wrapped his arms around me for a second. I felt his lips on my forehead.

“Last night . . . when you called me to sleep with you . . . I thought you wanted to have sex with me.”

I shook my head a little and ran my hands up his back, feeling the now familiar mesas of muscle. “No, you just were being really annoying rustling around on the bed. I wanted to sleep.”

He laughed and I felt a kiss on the top of my head. “I was ready, you know. I think I would have easily had sex with you, but I thought you were . . . what’s the word?”
