Karavalalambanam (literally meaning Handholding) is a unique book to teach modern students and seekers learn the intricacies, profundity, beauty and sophistication of Samskritam language using contemporary methods. The aim is to bring Samskritam closer to people and to help them read and appreciate texts, literature, sutras and religious scriptures on their own. Karavalalambanam covers the entire gamut of Samskritam grammar, starting with Varnamalas, Karakas, Prakrity, Pratyaya (Subhant, Subhant, Kridant, Taddhity, Stree), It, Avyaya, Samanadhikaran, Sandhi, Samasa, Vakyarthvimarsh, among others. The book is Bilingual - Samskritam and English in Devnagri and Roman combined script and has examples, tables, graphics and illustrations to make learning easier and more joyful. A keen learner can start this book as the first few steps of his journey of learning Samskritam and use this knowledge of Samskritam to do analysis (vigraham) of religious and literary texts. We believe that once a student starts taking an active interest, the learning never stops and one can keep climbing up the ladder of learning and expanding one’s horizon. This book is a humble attempt to help the student develop interest and embark on a journey of a thousand miles.
