Paula Penn-Nabrit is 60 and was widowed in 2013 when her darling Charles "CMadison" Nabrit died. They were married for 36 years, 8 months and 22 days. During the marriage Paula gave birth to Charles and Damon (twins), completed law school, had a 3rd son Evan (the baby) and along with CMadison worked for AT&T during it’s divestiture. In 1986 she and CMadison opened PN&A, Inc. a management consulting firm, and in 2000 finished homeschooling their 3 sons when Evan went to Amherst-Charles and Damon were already at Princeton. Charles and Damon joined the family business in 2008 and in 2012 Paula launched Telos Training, Inc. a 501(c)(3) focused on the empowerment of women, marriages and families, educational options, organic gardening & cooking. Paula has authored several books, including Morning by Morning: How We Home-Schooled Our African-American Sons to the Ivy League, lectured extensively across the U.S., Europe and Asia-and in 2014 created The Charles Madison Nabrit Memorial Garden, a 3,750 sq. ft. green space providing access to affordable organic goodies in the midst of an urban food desert. In her free time Paula teaches Sunday School at The Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith where her sons are 5th generation members of the congregation Paula’s maternal great-grandparents joined 100+ years ago.
