For two people, a journey to find that which has fallen through a rift in time becomes the only way they can save themselves from a fate far worse than death. Lillitu, soon to be queen of the vampires, is sent on a fool’s mission by the high council of Gargotha, who will do anything to be rid of her. Unless she succeeds, she will be banned from the only place she was truly welcomed, and forced to a life of loneliness. Sihn’r, a were-raven, wins in a poker game but looses his freedom to a gypsy, who put a curse on the gold. She vows not to remove the curse unless he completes a task for her, and it’s one that he’s definitely not qualified for. They have the same mission: find what came out of the rift. Unfortunately for Aric, he’s what fell out, and he’s alone in an unfamiliar world full of vampires, elves, were-animals, sprites, pirates, and many other strange creatures.
