However, the events have reminded me of a popular adage that goes, ＂A leaf does not fall far from its tree.＂ To put it another way, a child’s behaviour is influenced by his or her parents’.＂

ABOUT THE BOOK

Life can be likened to a winding road; some parts smooth and others riddled with gravel and rock. For ＂Tabi＂ it seemed as if her journey would be a rocky one, peppered with obstacles and barriers as tough as stone.

Having been born in desperate poverty, Tabi’s life would become an uphill battle against the odds. As she navigated loss and sadness, heartbreak in love, shame and despair, the obstacles were proving to be stepping stones; precious stones that lead her to a horizon of hope.

Tabi’s story is for anyone who has disqualified themselves from the joys of life because of their background, circumstance or shortcomings. She is proof that life is precious, flaws and all.

Nomthandazo Vena Kalani is an accomplished, self-taught fuel retail business woman. She has honed her skills in ＂the school of life＂ and has garnered the respect of her peers for her resilience and strength in the face of adversity.

Nomthandazo prides herself in her latest and greatest accomplishment; being an author. An achievement that has motivated her to cease the moment and realize her dreams while it is still day.

A true grounded soul, she is inspired by time spent with family, long Sunday beach walks and intimate moments with God.

She has built a loving home with her husband, Xolani Amos Kalani and their 3 children.
