Meet up with Archie and Ally Dixon again as they tumble into another adventure. This time they must help the wizard Signet to save the inhabitants of Altair from a deadly plague that is sweeping through the planet. While Signet is showing them the Oosha’ an underground temple’ in Hove that he protects, he takes them on into the sewers of Brighton connected by a secret passage.  Suddenly the children are surprised by the appearance of Aloric, a young Unicorn who has been sent to collect Signet because his urgent help to stop the epidemic.  Signet immediately leaves with Aloric as the Alterians are an extremely advanced civilisation and can travel through space.

Archie and Ally are supposed to leave the sewers through the manhole in Pavilion Gardens but decide to explore. Their curiosity leads them into more than they bargained for as they overhear a plot to tunnel through to the vault of the bank in the old Steine and steal a precious Faberge egg. They also get the fright of their lives as they almost bump in the evil wizard Vastator, whom they met on a previous escapade and they suspect he is behind the plague.  Together with their friend Zonah, they have to thwart the dangerous bank robbers and reach Signet to warn him about Vastator’s evil plans and provide him with not only information about the plague, but also the medication that they believe will cure it. Can they succeed against perilous and supernatural odds and will good overcome evil?
