The focus of this book is to detail the advances that have been made in theory development and to demonstrate the continued relevance of theory to nursing practice. Part I discusses concepts. statement, and theory development with recently published examples of theory strategies. Chapter I provides a historical context to theory development and added coverage of global perspectives on nursing theory. Part II, III, and IV are reorganized in this edition to emphasize the interdependence among concept-statement-and theory-related strategies. The last section, Part V, features new integrative principles related to concept, statement, and theory testing and also covers validation of concepts and theories.
