Seventeen year old Minerva Carreno had been a small-town girl hungry for travel, adventure, maybe even romance.  The newly established 1st Global Marine Division promised all of that.  After more than a century of world-wide peace, how could she ever have imagined that with the signing of her name, she would find herself among scores of other teens from around the world, embroiled in the desperate fight to liberate Earth from brutal alien occupation?
