Principles of Fluid Mechanics

Theory—The integral form of the conservation laws for open and closed systems are covered separately followed by separate chapters covering fluid kinematics and the conservation laws in differential form.

Analysis—In this part Dimensional Analysis, Analytic Solutions and Combined use of Experiments and Theory (i.e. boundary layer flow, external, internal flows) are introduced and applied to fundamental problems.

Special Topics—Classical topics such as ideal flow, compressible flow and dynamics of rotating fluids are reserved for separate chapters.

Ideas from computational and experimental fluid dynamics are introduced and a review of the basic mathematics required is provided—A number of useful Fortran programs are included.
