本書特色
本書第 1 版於 1956 年出版，之後陸續修訂改版至今已第 11 版。由於本書內容嚴謹、文字簡潔、圖片豐富、編排精美，每章均有數百道習題可供練習，因此一直為國內外大專院校講授動力學的主要教材之一。
動力學為力學領域的入門課程之一，為許多工程科系的必修課。內容延續高中物理的基礎力學內容，再加入更有系統、更深入的探討，強調自由體圖與動力圖的概念，並引入向量表示法、向量微分與運算。這套方法能有系統的分析許多用純量法不容易求解的運動學與動力學問題，並用於實際工程問題。雖然本書以詳盡易懂的方式講解，但動力學的觀念的確比靜力學難很多，對接觸英文教材的大一學生實在是不小的挑戰。我發現許多學生因不熟悉英文慣用法和專有名詞，無法和高中學過的中文概念對應，以致我上課時往往必須先表列專有名詞和重要觀念的中英文對照。本導讀版將每章複習與摘要譯成中文，希望讀者能很快抓住每章的重點並清楚專有名詞的中英文對照，更有效率地學習。
